Hi Corel:

I can't make transparent gifs at all in Corel Photo Paint. I've tried
the object transparency tool and it doesn't work. I've tried to click
the trasnparency button on the "Export" function and that doesn't work
either. I often get a message that I have to select an object. But if
I'm using clipart and I just want to make a white background
transparent, how do I do that?

try converting the image format to 256 colors first, save as a gif but
select options before you click okay. You should see the choices you are
looking for

Didn't work for me.

The instructions say to use the "select" tool, but it won't select the
image. Then when I try to use the transparency tool a message pops up
thet I don't have anything selected.

Walt,

Bring down the object rollup and be sure the area you are selecting is
the active area.

Could you give me a step by step? I've only had the program a week.
