I've been trying to use Photopaint 7's color manager to build profiles
for my Canon 7000 and Umax S-6E so that the color is good (it's great on
the monitor). I get the printer to print a color target and then just
when I'm supposed to scan it in, the program cores. It did it for win95
and now in 98. It did it on the Cyrix and now on the upgrade to AMD
K6-2/300.

Also, I did what the book suggested in getting Kodak to send me a pro
color target. It's great, but Photopaint doesn't like it because it has
more than the max 200 colors (it has flesh tones).

The Corel web site doesn't list my Canon photo quality printer (I'm very
fond of it). And there wasn't a list of scanners supported by the
updated CorelScan (mine's probably too low-end and old to expect to be
on that list anyway). So I'm pretty well stuck with building new
profiles for them.

Is the only answer to go to Photopaint 8? -- If so, do you know if will
it have the same problems?

Thanks,
Doug
