I recently bought and installed Corel 8, after trying to load a recently
scanned image the mouse locks up. I am very new to using corel but none of
the other desktop application cause this error. Anyone have a idea on how
to solve this? Any help would be much appreciated.

I' m not a corel 8 user - i use corel 6 and it sounds like you need to save
your file as a jpeg or eps or tiff file because it is so huge it's using up all
your ram - i've had similar problems - the mouse or the keyboard or the whole
system just locks up and won't function. Try saving the file as a compressed
jpeg or tiff instead of a corel photopaint or trace file and chances are the
problem will go away.

The original message was gone from this thread but I thought I'd point
out that PP8 had problems with scanning images and locking up which
were fixed with the Photo-Paint 8 patch on the Corel web site. If the
original poster of the message hasn't downloaded the patch (it's a big
one - over 17MB) download it - it clears up a number of problems.
