In Photoshop, you can 'group' layers so that the bottom layer acts as a mask
for the visible layers above. I'd like to know how to achieve the same
effect in Corel PhotoPaint, where objects have much the same function as
layers, but 'grouping' objects corresponds to 'linking' layers in Photoshop,
i.e. they are treated as one when you move or transform them. A 'clip mask'
corresponds to a layer mask, but how do you achieve the effect of grouping
layers so you can only see through the non-transparent areas of an object?
A clip mask only affects the object it belongs to, not the remaning objects.
Today I had to do this at work on a machine without Photoshop and was forced
to use Corel Draw's Powerclip to fit the images within an outline, the
re-export as a TIFF image, a long-winded procedure when you have to do
several images.

I know Photoshop is the 'industry standard' but in the corporate world
cheaper alternatives are often used where large numbers of licenses are
involved.

Any info much appreciated.
