I just installed Corel Photo Paint (from the Corel Draw 7.0 CD), and had
been able to scan (calling Vista Scan from Photo Paint).

The scanning went OK, but as I tried to process some changes proposed by
Photo Paint itself (from what I guess should be called a wizard), I ended
up with the following message, and nothing more after: "An error has
occured applying Image Enhancement correction. Corel Scan is unable to
continue." My only choice was to click "OK" and remain with an empty
frame.

As I'm totally new to Corel Photo Paint and within my first 2 weeks of
experiments with scanning, I wonder if I had choosen the best way to
proceed (should I try to go only with Corel Scan and install its own
drivers? will it work on UMAX Astra 610S scanner which normally uses its
Vista Scan driver ? Should I scan with another program, save the file,
then open Corel to edit it ??...)

The scanner works fine with many other programs: MS-Image Composer,
MS-Photo Editor (that ships with Office 97), as well as with its bundled
Adobe PhotoDeluxe 2. On the other hand, I understand Corel Photo Paint
would give me much flexibility, from the few other tests I have done with
existing images (not the newly scanned ones).

Thanks for any tip,
