Corrupted .CDR files

Hi! this is very URGENT.

My hardisk crashed and my systems person repaired it after taking
backup which has mostly heavy CDR files. After the system got
repaired, I copied the backup onto my computer. And now when I'm
opening the CDR files, the heavier ones i.e. the ones that are above
4-5 mb are mostly not opening.

a) There is a message flashing runtime error/programme termination or

b) There is a a banner that says there is an error would you continue,
restore or ignore. Post this on clicking any option, the programme
termination screen appears.

This data is very important to me as it means months of hardwork and
losing it would mean financial as well as goodwill loss.

Please advise. I'm really worried since the hard disk has been
formatted already.
