Painter 7 gives me out of memory notice when building some brushes although
I have 200 to 300+ megs available. I have 644 altogether. anyway to fix
this?

I get the heavy black in the color with watercolor and find it useless.
Also get the strange black artifacts on some brushes.

Sarah,

I don't have a solution for the "out of memory" notice other than to
move the Size slider to the left until Painter is willing to build it
for you. It's a problem for me as well with some brushes when the brush
size is too large.

With Painter 7 Water Colors, we often get an ugyl grey or blackish brush
stroke if the color picked either had some degree of black in it, or
sometimes when the color was picked along the top edge of the color
triangle, too close to white.

Before beginning to paint, open a white Canvas and test colors to get
the result you want. Rather than moving the color too close to white,
pick a fully saturated color (at the right tip of the color triangle),
then lower the brush Opacity to get a lighter color.

Take a look at the top demo image next to the
WCDryCamel-antique-pool.xml download link on the Painter 7 Custom Water
Color Brushes at PixelAlley:

http://www.pixelalley.com/Painter7/painter7-water-color-brushes.html

You'll also see the Color Set that was used and how different the actual
picked color is from the resulting brush strokes.

It just takes some experimenting to find a way to paint the colors you
want. Sometimes it's easy, sometimes not so easy.

Good luck, :o)
