Paulo Roberto Purim ("Paulo", to most of us who know him)... and I, have
agreed to start a page with Painter 7 custom Water Color Brushes,
examples and downloads. If you would like to contribute your custom
Water Color brushes, take a look at the format we've set up and when you
have all of the ingredients together, and files uploaded to your site,
write to me and let me know. I'll add them to this page:
For now, we're concentrating on Water Color brushes since they seem to
be the most challenging brushes in Painter 7 and a lot of people have
been trying to create some custom brushes that come close to what the
earlier version brushes could do. That is, blend, pooling edges, smooth
paint strokes, etc. Since I just opened the page yesterday, there's only
one brush so far. Paulo, who posts to the Painter list at Topica.com and
co-moderates the Painter Forum at In Depth Discussions along with Cris
Palomino and me, has agreed to share some of his Painter 7 Water Color
brushes as soon as his work load lightens up a bit. He's made a few of
them already. Also, I'm going to contact the folks who've already shared
their brushes to see if they'd like to participate.
If anyone reading this knows of others who have created custom Painter 7
Water Color brushes, please ask them to contact me at
jinb...@pixelalley.com and tell them about the new web page at
PixelAlley (URL below). Thanks. :o)
My hope is to have a central location where people can go to see the
progress we're making and help themselves to any brushes they want. If
you'd like to take a look, the URL to my website's section link page is:
http://www.pixelalley.com/pixelalley-sections-pages.html
Click the bottom link on the right side of the page and you can see the
image dimension, file size requirements, and how to submit your
contribution.

It was uploaded weeks ago and I checked it yesterday. If you're using
Windows, right click on the Zip file link and choose Save Link As, then
save it to your hard drive. (That's how to do it in Netscape. In
Explorer it's similar.)

Thank you! You're right.. it's not supposed to be there. <g>
I'll fix it pronto and you should be able to download it in about a half
hour. (It's 6:24 pm PST.)
The URL is fixed now. I think the server automatically adds %20 wherever
there's a space. It was my mistake and I want to thank you again for
letting me know.

Thanks.... I'm glad you like the brush. Please take a look at the linked
image (you'll find the link where you downloaded the brush) that is
larger and shows what happens when you paint in a tight circle and/or
paint inside a selection. It's peculiar and fun. <g>

AFAIR space isn't supported or rather allowed in web adresses - change it to
%20 or better use some other kind of 'blank characters' (like "_" or "-").

The file name was supposed to have a dash where there was a space.
That's how the file name reads. I don't know how the dash got replaced
by a space, but it's fixed now and the file should be possible to
download.
Thanks,

Hi,
I have Painter 6, and did not know that is owned now by Corel. Please, could
you tell me where to find the library for the watercolor brush you are refering
about? Thanks.
Sara
Sali...@bellsouth.net
There are several Painter 7 Custom Water Color Brushes on my site that
you can download. Along with the .XML brush files, there are demo images
to give you some idea of how the brushes look. Also, there are brush
files and libraries available for download at In Depth Discussions (for
Painter 5, 6, and 7), in a couple of the forums. The URLs are below my
signature.
Sara,
If the Water Color Brush Library Corvus mentioned is for Painter 7, you
won't be able to use it in Painter 6 as the Painter 7 Water Color Brush
engine is completely redesigned. Join In Depth Discussions and post a
message in the Painter Forum to let us know you're there, and I'll help
you find some Painter 6 brushes, though they may not be Water Color
variants. If you need help with brush settings, just ask. There are some
people in the Painter Forum who have a good deal of experience creating
custom brushes..
