Whither Painter 6.1 Upgrade?

I've lost the 6.1 upgrade formerly downloaded from Corel that amongst other
things stabilizes the saving of JPGs without crashing. It's not on Corel's
site anymore, though a non-working DOS app purporting to be "Painter 6.1
Upgrade" is in the FTP site.
Where can I find it? Thanks.

Hi S.P.,
I think you're referring to the Painter 6.1 patch that is available to
download from the Corel FTP server at:
ftp://ftp.corel.com/pub/Painter/6.1
The file name, for Windows is:
Corel_Painter_6.1_Updater.exe
For Mac's, there are two files named:
Corel_Painter_6.1_Updater.bin
Corel_Painter_6.1_Updater.hqx
Since I'm not a Mac user, I can't say which file to use but if you're a
Mac user, you probably know already or can ask another Mac user.
There's no Painter 6.1 Upgrade that I can see on the Corel FTP server
and since Corel is not selling Painter 6.1 anymore, an "upgrade" from an
earlier version won't be available from them.
If you own Painter 6, all you need to do is download the appropriate
patch file for your OS and use the following steps:
To Uninstall Painter 6, reinstall Painter 6 and the 6.1 patch:
1. Move any files you created to a folder outside of the main Painter
folders.
2. Uninstall Painter 6.
3. Manually delete any remaining Painter 6 installed folders and files.
4. Reboot.
5. Install Painter 6, then immediately install the Painter 6.1 patch.
6. Reboot.
7. Launch Painter 6.1.
