Corel Painter 8.1 Is Now Available!

Greetings Everyone,

The Corel Painter 8 Update (English) is now available! You can find it at http://www.corel.com/painter8 in the “Downloads” section. Other languages are well underway, and I will follow up once they are ready.
Before downloading the Corel Painter 8 Update, please be sure to read the “Installation Instructions”. It contains important information about installing the update.
Many fixes went into this update, including the reintroduction of Custom Palettes. More details are provided in the ReadMe file. There is also an updated version of User Guide that includes a section on using Custom Palettes.
Many thanks to those of you who sent in clear details of the issues you found. Without this information, this release would not have happened. Being able to reproduce an issue is the key to tracking down the root of a problem, and we had some extremely helpful people working with us.
Huge thanks also to the Painter Team for all the hard work they put into Painter 8.1. It’s an absolute pleasure to work with such a dedicated group of individuals!

Hey Ray, ;o)

Click the link in Rick's message and, as he says, in the "Downloads"
section, the Painter 8.1 patch is available.

Click the link for your version and you'll see the patch download link,
the installation instructions, a list of fixes.

You can also download the updated Painter 8 User Guide in PDF format
from that page.

The Painter 8.1 patch for Windows is an .MSP file. In WinXP Home, it
opens with the Windows Installer when you double-click the file. I don't
know any more about it but it installed perfectly on my WinXP Home system.

Great Rick -- now it would be nice if the installer program for that update

I have tried the 8.1 upgrade for paiter on my win xp system and it does not seem to work. It starts and then after a while I get a message that the program has stopped responding.

What is the problem

I too added the painter upgrade 8.1 on my xp system. Everything felt wobbly for a while then the whole thing crashed causing my monitor to object strongly! OK I'll try it again making absolutely sure of every step I take - I'll let you know what happens either way.

OK re-loaded Painter and 8.1 now it all works sweet. Must have been my fault, sorry Corel.
