I recently purchased KnockOut 1.5 to replace the 1.0 version currently
running successfully on my PC with Windows XP. 1.5 will not install with the
supplied serial number. It only takes 9 of the 10 digits in the installation
box and gives 'invalid serial number' reply. Corel registration personnel
say 1.5 can't run on XP and that's why it won't take the serial number. I
find it hard to believe when the older version runs just fine. Anybody have
a similar experience and found a solution? I wanted the 1.5 stand alone
versus the 2.0 plug in from recommendations from other users of the product.

Thanks for any help. Marsha

Hi Marsha,

I have both versions. I never tried 1.5 on xp. I do have it on win95 and
win 2000pro and it works fine.

There is nothing wrong with 2.0. It actually has better interface and
tools. Works very cool (personal opinion). I have it on xp pro (desktop) and
xp home (laptop)and use it in both photoshop and photopaint.

Hi Marsha,

I don't know why they told you Version 1.5 can't run on XP. It runs
just fine on my machine which has 98 and XP both.

However, I had installed KO 1.5 before I installed XP and it is on a
different partition than what XP is on. I don't know if that is the
reason it works, or not.

Some other folks were having trouble with the serial number not being
recognized and if I remember correctly, it was a problem of the zeroes
and the letter O being switch around and mistaken by the reader of the
Seer. #. You might try typing in a letter O instead of a zero and vice
versus.

Bob,
Thanks for the response.. Was able to get a 9 digit serial number from the
seller (versus the 10 digit one from Corel) that finally allowed the
installation to work on XP.
