Are you tracing a pic of an existing car? It looks awesome (grumbles in
jealousy...)

Part is tracing, I took the top off my self and added the chrome lowered
it. The Body was from a pic. :)

thanks

Hmm... I seem to have run into similar problems with my jpgs.
Anyone figure out what it was that caused this?

I saved my screen capture from corel photopaint 9, RGB 72 dpi. Encoding Progressive, SubFormat 4:4:4, Compression 10, Smoothing 0.

I use NO bitmaps on my art , everything is vector.

AHA! uncheck PROGRESSIVE encoding method when saving as jpg from phopaint 9 and the images will work/show up in the message. Not
that I know what progressive is anyways.

Thank you.
Anymore messages from me and they'll start charging me for access.

The paint sucks, but it's what they already had developed. The 2005 design I did looks much better, but I can't show that one yet.
(Imagine Pace Car paint).
Anyways, that rendering is more for sponsorship presentation, where the sponsor wants to see all the places their decal goes in one
tidy image.
Otherwise I'd pick more dramatic angles to display the car.

For my business, the practicality/re-use of the design is most important. It's nice to have a good looking image, but in my business
I also have to re-use it for other jobs later to make it most profitable. If it's not easy to edit, then it ain't worth diddly to
me. Artwork like that vette takes around 8 hours to produce (sans decals), but once my 'template' is created I can produce new art
with differing paint schemes in about an hour for each (depending on the job).

Just caught yer other post about using the same process. Good to know. Let me know your rates and I might have work for you in the
future if interested. I ain't guaranteeing anything, and I'd need to see some of your vector files before dishing out work, but I
get pretty busy in the spring with race and toy season and can always use some help 'building' templates.
If interested you can go to rpm-design.com and email or call using the contact info there.

Darn. Did those images not show up for you?
The first vette image didn't work for me, but the second set of images showed up and I figured unchecking that progressive box did
the trick.

They showed up on my computer right when I previewed them before sending but
not here after I sent them. I still don't know what the answer is. They
weren't Draw files to start with and that might be part of the problem. I
was working in Paint with Cory's JPG file of his car.

Not "Progressive" - check the "Optimize" box instead. Before you attach the
image to your post open it in your file viewer and click on the Info
button - it should be RGB (listed as JPEG/JFIF not as JPEG - CMYK)

Nice Impala. Cory. That blue looks just right.

I believe it was my senior year so, 78-79? And no, no animals were injured
during the making of this interior. I started to work on the outside before
I did the inside and after piling the bondo on the outside (you should
always apply lite thin coats and sand between - not what I did of applying
0.5 inches at a time and then 'trying' to sand, chip and blast the stuff
down), I also sprayed the hood with red primer and eventually gave up my
brief foray in autobody work and went to work on the inside. So my car was
lite blue, darker blue, primer red and bondo grey...

I actually sold it to a guy for $650.00
Man, I wish I had that car today. Compared to todays cars, I could fit 20
people into it (I actually threw my old girlfriends brother into the trunk
one time, blasted the stereo and went for a ride on a back road, he had fun
rolling around back there....)
Ah, the good ol' days!

My next car was a blue AMC gremlin... (ever try and fit a guitar amp in a
Gremlin?) but I always wanted an ElCamino.... side pipes, wide slicks on
the back, major metalflake paint.... an engine so big you need a step ladder
in the front seat to see over the intake....

Ahhh a gear head at heart :) I'll look into an ElCamino, always been one of
my faves :) Maybe I'll do that this week :) Got a Fav year, color? The
engine I'll have to look at but it would be a 400 Blue block or a 454 with
whipple charger :) NO2 injectors and 35" Micky Thompson's in back :) Would
do a 1/4 mile in 7-7.5 seconds :) ..... oh wait what news group is this
again?:) lol get me talking about cars/motorsports and see what happens :)
I'll have to find my pics of ME in the Comp Dragster when I was in high
school :) Now I want to get behind the wheel of a Top Fueler :) 4.4
seconds @340 Mph. *drool* *heart flutters* Oh my.... :)

Thanks

Hi Jim,

speaking of guitar amps, (way off topic) here is a 725k snippet of my
variety band playing an AC/DC tune. We just got a new singer, he can sing
that stuff pretty good. This is direct off the mixing board, and only the
second time we've played it! It's really fun to go from this to polkas to
country music... :-)

Ah, cars & MOR/T40 bands! I D/l'd your other bit of shredding, makes me
jealous! I'm looking forward to seeing this new one. I did my time in a T40
band wearing a tux for the weddings, if I never hear "when will I be loved"
again, I'll be happy! Give me a garage band anytime! I was in my daughters
high school the other day and heard a few kids (drummer & guitarist) in the
alcove they use for a music room trying to play some gawd awful tune I've
heard on "todays" rock radio, it made me very sad. I can only hope the
guitarist had more than 2 strings and used more than 2 fingers....

Now if car manufacturers would only make "new" ones like Ruth's, they should
still have all the tooling stored somewhere and could use that instead of
wasting money coming up with all these "new" designs that I can't tell from
one-another. I'm still waiting for those cool designs I see in my 1940's
popular mechanics mags.....
