Keep F8 pressed whilst starting draw and agree to reset defaults when
relevant dialogue appears.
If that does not help I'd be inclined to un-install again, manually
delete any leftover Corel directories. Go through the registry to
check/delete corel references and install again. Note: Only go through
the registry if you have made a back-up and feel confident, otherwise
try software that is available for 'cleaning up'. With multiple
attempts at install wayward entries need not be a surprise.
Which O/S?
Which version/revision of 9? If the regular full suite 9.439 is the
final version, well worth downloading and applying patches as well if
required.

To play safe there is a compatability download file for XP from MS web
site, covers Draw 9 amongst all the software. Some say without doing
so Corel still works, but I reckon if you are going to re-install,
in_ for_ a_ penny, in_for_a_pound' and go the whole hog.
Try going into the folder where your workspace customizations are kept (on
my Win2K system:
"C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application
Data\Corel\CorelDRAW9\workspacename" should be something similar on yours)
and rename the file "cdrsbar.cfg" to something else.
Next time you start CD9 it should use the default status bar configuration
and save a new config file when you exit.
Rename instead of delete the file just in case something gets bolluxed up
and you have to go back.
Hope this helps,
