Do you know how to convert a CorelDraw file to a Microsoft Word .doc
file.
The CorelDraw graphic designer that did a number of sketches says that
she does not know how to do this and as the sketches get inserted into a
50 page lease, it is a little ridiculous to have to scan her hard copy
of her CorelDraw sketch (probably a .cdr file) / photocopy it and then
insert it into the document by hand. The result is that neither I nor
the tenant can read the dimensions on the sketch to which the tenant
must comply. So it becomes a useless insertion into the document. My
goal is to have all of the sketches as WORD .doc files inserted (copied)
into the WORD document and have a clear set of graphics where they
appear (as schedules (site plan*; floor plan*; fascia sign and
storefront dimensions (already have been converted from Autocad .dwg. to
WORD .doc files); graphic standard for fascia signage* at the end of the
document). Note: * denotes those sketches that are CorelDraw sketches
that need to be converted to WORD .doc sketches. I believe that the
designer uses V.9 or V.10 but it could be V8.0.

Your help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Curtis

It won't be a .doc file. Your designer could export the files out as WMF
files and you could import those into Word... she could also export/save the
images in a number of other formats that could be imported into Word.

Curtis,

I ran into your same problem trying to import corel .CDR file into
Word97.
I was successful by doing "SAVE AS" in Corel 8 and selecting the
output file to be "Corel Ver5 .CDR". The converter that comes with
word97 will accept this CDR file when you insert a picture. The final
picture quality looked good. Couldn't find a newer Microsoft CDR
conversion file for Corel Ver 8.

I tried saving as EMF and wasn't pleased with quality of final
picture. Also tried going through Adobe Paint to get .JPEG file for
Word97 and still wasn't satisfied.

I ran into the same problem using Corel Draw ver 8.0.

There is a file converter for Word that will accept Corel.cdr files.
The problem is that the converter only works with Corel ver 5.0 files.

I use Corel V8.0 and save the drawing file as Corel V5.0. When I am in
the Word document, I insert a picture from a file and point to the
Corel.cdr V5.0 file. This has given very good results.

Let me know if you have any problems with the procedure.
