Hi,

I have been out of Corel Draw for a while, and I now have to alter a drawing I made a while ago.

Please will somebody remind me how to continue an already existing bezier curve that has a number of points?

First, if the shape is a closed shape, then I have to break it open. That's easy enough. Then what do I do? Select the line/node with what? The shape tool? The Bezier tool. Nothing seems to get me back into the Bezier drawing mode so that I can continue a line from the node with which it previously terminated.

Actually, I just did before by accident, but I don't know how I did it ...

I am sure I used todo this but now I have forgotten.

Select the existing curve with the pick tool
select either the freehand or bezier tool
Position the cursor over one of the end nodes of the curve, the cursor
will alter slightly and display a cross hair it an arrow pointing down
and to the left
Start drawing.

Thanks, Peter.

It works sometimes. But it is not workiing for all of my lines. For some of
them, I don't get the little down-arrow.

Any ideas what the difference is between the lines?

Could be anything.

Part of a group of shapes
A different layer and edit across layers is disabled, or edit layer is
turned off

And probably many more.

What does the curve tab in the object properties dialog say about the
curve you are trying to extend (right click on the selected curve and
select properties from the pop-up menu)

Will get back to you on this in a day or two. It's weekend here now.

Thanks.

Avraham.

Greetings Avraham,
I assume you want to add to an existing shape which is fully closed.
Select the node from where you wish to continue drawing using the Shape
Tool and right click it and select break apart - this makes two nodes
superimposed. Darg one of them a little way aprt and using the bezier
tool begin drawing from that node (note that the bezier cursor develops
a little bent arrow indicating that it has joined to the node).
You can adjust the position of the node later using the shape tool if
necessary
Hope this helps
Regards
Bill
