Form time to time CD 9 sends you a warning that it's done something illegal
and your file has to be saved under a different name and you have to restart
CD9. I have said a while back that it has to do with the roller ball on
the mouse when you zoom in. UNTIL today :) No I haven't fixed it but I
did notice that when it happens it you are zooming in OR moving the page
*press down on the roller ball * and CD does a backup save... I tried 3
times today and 3 time it crashed... Humm anybody else notice this?

That happened to me this morning, using a standard wireless mouse. It
usually happens when I weld/trim something. (I have both SP's installed, &
no winxp upgrades)
More often than not I lose the file up to that point and there's no backup
save of the culminated work.
Save, save, save!

Happy Thanksgiving Day to all of you, even those of you north of the border!

I wonder if the two of you are really pushing the Corel program. This has
also happened to me but not too often and I have been able to save my work.

I'm running winxp on an HP 2.6 P4 512 ram/nvidia Gforce 4 MX 440 vid card
(right from the manufacturers box, no mod's to the computer), I set msconfig
to have everything off, usually I just have CD open, sometimes I'll have PP
open too, nothing else. I always physically clean out the temp, cookies &
net files everytime I start the computer too. But when it "crashed" on me
this morning, I was on the net. Basically, I'm surfing or drawing, nothing
else.
Personally, I think it's windows.

When it happens to me on my 9.439 it tells me to save the file but then it
won't let me "save" or do anything axcept restart. I've been trapped by this
a few times and would like to find a worksaround for it which would allow me
to Save the drawing at that point instead of having to go back to my last
Autosave.

TIA

Jim, learn the Ctrl/S "twitch"!

This issue does need a resolution, though. "If you haven't Saved in the last
few minutes it can be a disaster.
How can the prog ask you to save if it's already frozen you out?

Corfield.
