However, I cannot get Designer 9 to import either the DWG or DXF files
correctly (only imports about half the layers) The files I import have
around 64 layers typically and Designer imports only about 30 of them. It
seems the layers that are left off contain mostly text objects. I have
tried all different versions of autocad and DXF files with no success.
Right now I have to use both Des. 9 & 7. Designer 7 to import the DXF files
and Designer 9 for my editing. Designer 7 imports all the layers correctly
in about 1/10 of the time it takes Designer 9 to import only about half of
the layers. This is a ridiculous ritual since Designer 9 forte was supposed
to be it's autocad interface. I tried a trial version of Designer 10 which
is not well suited to the type of work I need to do. Designer 10 seems to
import all the layers but has major scaling problems with the autocad files.
I have sent my file samples to Corel support and they have no solution. Any
advice is welcome.
