at first a little background (you can skip this if you want). i try to
output photos to a color copier (xerox dc 12) driven by a fiery print
server/rip (x12). there are some problems when you print cmyk do this
system. the rip doesn't do a very good job when it comes to saturated
colors. either they are to dark or to grey. anyway - the point is,
when i feed the rip generic rgb files (like out of photshop or
acrobat) the outcome is a much more colorful one. (seems like the rip
knows the dc12 a whole lot better then the icc-profile used to make
cmyk's)
now the problem: i can't beat corel to output rgb-pictures 'as is' to
postscript. i even tried switching of *all* colormanagemnt. all i get
is the usual *very* grey images you get, when you forgot to convert
your rgb-images in corel. there's a work around (exporting to pdf and
printing from there) which preserves rgb (prior to cmyk) but this is
only a very humble option because trying to position you print exactly
and that alike becomes avery time-consuming and frustrating business.
(therefore going the path via eps is also no good) also printing to
our lfp-printer is quite crippled because of that, because you just
can't use the full gamut of 6 colors if you throw only cmyk at the
rip.
and now the question: how *can* i beat corel draw 10 to output rgb 'as
is'? which option did i miss??
a very warm thank you in advance for any help
