I have to say I hate what it's become!
So I looked back to RAVE.
Thought "pity you can't write a script in here".
Then tried looking at RAVE as being my SWF layout tool. Always I have these
multi level swf things...
Then a few things stuck me about this process...
1. Flash is out of order! Perhaps not to a JAVA programmer but it's loosing
everyone else. It's become a top programming tool and lost it's simplicity
in the process.
2. One thing I never liked was LoadMovie. Having to use movies the same
layout/size, no visualization on the timeline. All the obvious lackings.
3. Then I thought "pity you can't place components on levels and see them...
4. And couldn't these components be made in any swf tool.
5. And don't good components work better then wizards and code etc anyway.
All of which lead me to think... (hope you are getting this up there)
Rave is a great Flash drawing tool. But I wonder if there isn't a ready
market for a Flash Layout Tool (if you have worked in levels you will
understand how lacking this is).
If that were the case Corel could put a little effort into a few swf
components which could be written in Flash for all it matters.
You would need some file linking back to originator programs be they Flash
or some other swf author.
I don't think the above is too complex and given the lack of programming
features in Rave creating a "page layout" style interface to levels could be
a real winner.
What do you guys think?
