I purchased the academic version of CDR12 and tried to install it on my
PC running Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 (with SP2)...
After clicking "install CDR12" in the setup window, the usual "windows
is configuring the installer" starts, but is halted by XP's "data
execution prevention"...
I then tried to change the settings so that the windows installer,
setup.exe and the *.msi file (both on the cdr12 cd) are excluded from
this protection.
However, the install still crashes reporting a illegal write access to
memory (caused by either ehRecVr.exe or svchost.exe, the former being a
component unique to MCE2005).
Can anybody recommend a workaround for this issue? Corel is refusing to
give me free support (as I own the academic version) and I found no
users experiencing similar issues.
Thanks,
K. Wadel
