CorelDraw 12 crashes when trying to manipulate imported EPS file.

Hi there, I have a problem importing EPS files into CorelDraw 12, the
EPS in this case was created using AutoCad LT 2006. the file is 3.5MB
in size. It opens fine but if i ty and select the resulting group of
lines it crashes Corel. this is really frustrating as it is only
happening with one of my files. anyone had similiar problems?
