System Specs:

Operating system version: Windows XP Home
RAM: 512 MB
Free disk space: 28 GB
Video adapter: NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 420
Printer driver version and model of printer: No Printer

Problem:

After having CorelDraw on my system for the better part of 18 months
with no problems, I am suddenly unable to get the Draw program or any
of the suite's other component programs to open past the splash screen
(except for the font manager which seems to open fine).

I've attempted to uninstall and reinstall the program several times
(clearing any references to "Corel" from my registry after each
uninstall) with no luck. I've also tried to reinstall on a separate
hard drive with the same results. Every time that the program is
reinstalled, I closely watch for any errors that may come up during the
install, but everything appears to go fine.

Several of the associated applications come up with an error when I
attempt to click on them, "The application failed to initialize
properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application". This
message doesn't come up when either CorelDraw, Photopaint, or RAVE are
launched though. These 3 programs briefly display a splash screen and
then nothing further happens.

I've checked the Event Log to see if there were any errors during
installation or during program startup but no errors are displayed.
Any help would surely be appreciated.

I'm having the exact same problem.

Windows XP Pro (SP2 build 2600)
ATI Radeon 9600
No printer

I wonder if it's possible to track down the common attribute of our two
systems that's causing this problem. I've been scouring the web
looking for a solution to this problem and have so far been totally
unsuccessful.

You can read a previous discussion about this problem that happened in
August of last year:

http://groups.google.com/group/corel.graphic_apps.cdgs12-draw/browse_thread/thread/1965770edf8a9dad/1df88f7f90156848?lnk=st&q=corel+draw+12+won%27t+open&rnum=1#1df88f7f90156848

No solution seems to have come out of that thread, though. :(

Is there anyone else out there who has grappled with this problem?
Here's the different things I've tried so far:

* Apply the CGS12SP1EN.msp patch (I did this in all cases). Doesn't
help.
* Run "msconfig" and turn on Selective Startup, running only the .ini
files (SYSTEM.INI & WIN.INI). Reboot. Try to run CorelDraw. No go.
* Uninstall. Remove references to Corel from the registry. Clean out
temporary files. Re-install. Still doesn't work.
* Update to newest video drivers. No effect.

This is driving me nuts.

Okay, well, I tried installing Corel 12 on a fresh WinXP Pro install
and still have the exact same problem. Neat.

On the plus side, this product installed flawlessly the first time with
no hassle:
