I've got a couple of old (1996) PS files on the puter that I would like to
import into a CD 11 drawing (or into PP then into CD). Neither CD or PP will
open or import the files. PP goes through the import via the PS filter but
nothing happens, CD attempts to import but fails with a VM memory error from
the interpreter.

Any suggestions welcome.

Frank

"plain PS" ? I don't see that import filter in my CD 11, only "PS, PRN, EPS,
Postscript Interpreted".

BTW, I've tried to convert them into PDFs with Acrobat and it crashes out of
the job with this error message:

%%[ Error: undefined; OffendingCommand: II* ]%%
%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%

Hi Frank,

how are you importing them? Is it through PS interpreted or just plain old
PS? If they import as plain PS you might be able to print them and then
import the PRN file (assuming you want them interpreted into a Draw file).
Just a thought.

Cheers

Have you tried the most recent version of Ghostscript to read them?
Sometimes GS can be conned into believing things that Distiller won't
(also the other way around).

Worth a shot as GS is a freebie. If it can be conned into reading it, it
can produce PDFs.

Oh, I see, they really are already PS's not EPSs. Sorry, I misunderstood.
Guess it's over to Paul's suggestion of Ghostscript.

Cheers,
