Hi Everybody:

I just wanted to know if it's at all possible to make something in Bryce 5,
and take it into Lightwave 7.5 or visa-versa?
IE: Lightwave opject into Bryce....
That goes for Poser to, can I use the "people" in Poser either in Bryce or
in Lightwave?

if so how?

Are there tutorials that I can go to that will explain the process?

Lightwave takes these formats .lwo, and .lws
IE: "Flower.lwo"
(which basically stands for "Lightwave object" or if you want to take into
Lightwaves Layout, then it'll be "Flower.lws = which is Lightwave scene)

Thanks

No to most things from Bryce to LW (you can export terrains and lattices to
a standard 3d format, such as dxf, 3ds ...)

Yes, although I have had some problesm with some LWO objects that I have
downloaded.

Yes, export people as 3ds format, and when importing that people model you
will be asked to se the path for each texture on the people model, I am
assuming that this still is the case for the new Poser?

Yup

If you mean Poser5: yes, still is the same. But I use the export from Poser
to OBJ format. Maybe just a "personal taste" but I found that when using
OBJ, the object stays more handable in Bryce plus that it's smooth.

LightWave can import the .OBJ model files that Poser exports, but if you mean
you want them posable afterwards then buy CR2 - Rigger (around $125 U.S.) and
use that. It takes a Poser CR2 (character) file and automatically turns it
into a posable/animatable LightWave figure. Use Google or some other search
engine to find it or email me - remove "JunkBox" TWICE from my email to get it
to work - and I'll send you contact details for the publisher in a few days.

LightWave will import a wide range of model formats but it won't automatically
rig them for animation or posing, that's generally up to you, and it takes an
age to learn.

No way to export anything made from Bryce primitives but Bryce 4 and 5 can
export mesh objects in a variety of formats including LightWave .LWO format.

There is a plug in to bring in Poser content into Bryce through Daz Studio
(available for free download). That is to say that Daz Studio is available
for free. The plug in (Turbo Import) will cost you $30. See www.daz3d.com

As for bringing in Poser content into Lightwave. There is again a plug in
available that will acomplish this task. If you have Poser 4 than all you
need to do is purchase the Pro Pack. If you don't have Poser 4 then you
will need to purchase Poser Artist and the Pro Pack. There isn't any
importing into Lightwave with Poser 5 available yet. But Curious Labs has
stated for the past two years - its on the way! See www.curiouslabs.com
