Hello

I am very new to Bryce and am struggling with it. I want to make some 3D
pictures from Swiss 1:25000 maps of the Alps. How do I go about this?

You're probably best getting a DEM (Digital Elevation Map) of the area
of interest.

http://www.mapmart.com/DEM/Countries/Switzerland.htm

is one source, but they aren't free.

The usgs also have DEMs online. They're in various formats and Bryce can
import some of them. 3DEM is a PC app that can convert formats.

Also see http://www.terrasource.net/

An alternative to DEMs is trying to create a heightfield from a scan of
your maps, but this is very tedious work and isn't entirely
satisfactory.
