Earlier this year my brother Arthur wrote to you, it is my sad duty to
inform you that he is no longer with us.
Last week, on leaving the local service bureau after delivering his
latest Microsoft Word and Publisher files, an image setter fell from a
4th storey window and struck him down.
I do not blame the image setter for the accident, who fortunately
survived the fall. On visting him in hospital, I explained that although
I was not very experienced, I would follow in my brother's footsteps and
continue his work, especially the part about doing as much work as
possible in Microsoft products to save them time. The tears of gratitude,
my brother often commented on, present on the image setter's face were
all the thanks that I needed. I left him in the sure knowledge that I had
done everything possible to speed his recovery.
On reviewing my brother's correspondance on his computer, I noticed that
he had received no official response to his last enquirey and thought I
would follow up on it.
Your continued lack of support for flashing ink (which I believe
Microsoft invented support for) in your products continues to amaze me. I
am sure this amazing feature is the way forward.
To be honest though when I spoke to the local service bureau about using
flashing ink in my Word Documents, they became quite irate and said that
their ink supplier would only deliver flashing ink when Hell freezes
over, perhaps you could issue a service pack to ensure this. Until then I
have decided to keep the project in house and overprint white, in place
of the flashing ink, on my okey kokey CMYK inkjet printer, something I am
sure you have made possible.
I must dash, I'm off to the local service bureau to deliver some JPEG
images taken on my okey kokey, sub megapixel, 320x240 digital camera,
which I want printed at poster size. I cannot wait to see the results.
Best wishes for the holiday season.
Yours faithfully
Albert Nimby
