Job Description
Job Title: Technical Specialist, Operations & Technical Services (BizTalk Administrator)
PURPOSE: Troubleshoot and Administer BizTalk 2006 environment
Lead the design, architecture, and implementation of divisional level initiatives and support activities of for the Technical Services and Operations team.
Core Accountabilities:
·        Interpret, define and document detailed requirements in support of application development and technical services projects
·        Create system design specifications that support the requirements for simple to complex project assignments
·        Provide on-call support for systems and areas of responsibility for 24X7 coverage
·        Interact with business partners to provide innovative solutions
·        Provide technical support to IT Associates and assume lead role in problem resolution
·        Develop technical solutions for the architectural designs based on strategies and initiatives
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Operations
·        Provide operational support for existing BizTalk 2004 and BizTalk 2006 projects.
·        Provide technical support to IT Associates and assume lead role in problem resolution
·        24/7 support of BizTalk on a rotational basis.
·        BizTalk 2006 troubleshooting, support and administration
·        Monitoring and Performance
o        Microsoft Operations Manager  Monitoring (MOM)
o        Monitor BizTalk environments for errors and warnings and engage appropriate project resources to trouble shoot and resolve issues in a timely fashion.
o        Monitor performance of the environments and recommend scalability of BizTalk when appropriate.
o        BizTalk performance tuning.
o        Web Application support and tuning (IIS 6, 7)
o        Health and Activity Tracker (HAT)
 
Planning & Deployment
·        BizTalk 2006 installation, configuration, high availability clustering
·        BizTalk Deployments a. Multi- server environment b. scripting c. WMI d. MSI packages
·        BAM implementation and support
·        Host integration Services
·        Microsoft Cluster Server (MSCS) configuration and support
·        Develop well-documented processes and procedures for upkeep of production environment.
·        Act as the BizTalk administrator and be the single point of contact for deployments of new projects and upgrade of existing projects.
·        Coordinate scheduled outages to the BizTalk environments, both 2006 and 2004 versions.
·        BizTalk Development Patterns and Best Practices
 
Other
·        Visual Source Safe Administration
·        Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 Server support and administration
·        Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 Active Directory
·        MS SQL Server 2005 - clustering, sizing and performance monitoring and tuning
·        Reporting Services
·        Other special tasks and assignments (as needed).
 
Education/Experience Required:
·        2-or 4 year College Degree or related experience required
·        5 years IT experience with most or all of the following:
·        Systems Analysis and Design abilities
·        Results-Oriented Track Record
·        Comprehensive SDLC and Project Management Understanding
·        Product evaluation and practical use experience
·        Demonstrated support experience
·        Excellent experience with BizTalk administration and BizTalk projects
