Dear Alum,

Hope you are doing well !

It's been a privilege to be together on this pursuit of finding meaning in life. We at Youth Alliance feel, as humans we are most impressionable and vulnerable in the face of a story. While each of us has a unique story to tell, the world we live in sees threat in the differences we have, from our skin colour to nationality, from our gender to sexual orientation, from our career choices to college we went. Dividing us by labels the world puts all its power towards suppressing the birth of such of multiple stories.

In past seven years of Youth Alliance’s work, we have witnessed many inspiring, beautiful stories being born when one receives a space for expression, a gift of listening and time! And we believe that it is stories that change the world. Through our various programs, we wish to take individuals on a journey of rediscovery - to find and speak their own truth, to listen to each other and build a world where we can find strength in our differences.

Such qualitative work has few financial supporters as the quantifiable impact takes time to be witnessed. The depth of engagement is more valuable than the scale of operation for us. We work with a selected group of youth and our ripple effect model enables us to impact thousands through them. Raising resources having made this value choice has been a challenge but our perseverance, grit, and sense of possibility have enabled us to sustain and grow. Setting up and sustaining YA with limited resources and building a strong team amid adversities keeps me rooted to the idea of leading with grace under pressure.

2018 marks the 7th year of Youth Alliance and in all these years one thing that has remained consistent is your belief in the work. Every time we have reached out to our close knit community someone has come forward to support us in whatever form is possible. We are running a fund raising campaign and we request you to be a part of it and help us reach our goal.

The call is to extend this model based on trust to many other young people. Reach out to your friends, family, teachers, share about the work and contribute whatever you can. Every rupee matters. Youth Alliance doesn't yet have an institutional funder and all we rely is on individuals like you!

I am happy to answer any of your queries. Looking forward to your support to build this further :)

Thanks and Regards,

- With love
