Hey team,

MEETING TODAY: Sounds like it's Lara, Sharon and myself.  Meet at 33 Flatbush at 2pm?  Nancy Romer can also join us at 2:30 for prep on the 5th fl before the 3pm mtg.  What all should we bring?  A copy of the survey and that adapted list of "accomplishments"?

SURVEY: Margot Seigle created the survey and is the official "owner" and I've been in touch with her about this issue.  Unfortunately she's living on a farm now away from regular internet connections.  She'll try to get to the bottom of it.

SUNDAY: So, I didn't sleep last night after spotting two evil creatures (yes, bedbugs) on my sheets.  I'm really cracked out and traumatized... and feeling sad that our hospitality for people needing shelter at our house likely brought this on.  Needless to say, it might be "safer" to have our Sunday meeting elsewhere.  Can anyone else host?  I'll be living out of plastic bags for a while (of freshly nuked clothes), so I can assure everyone I won't be bringing the evil ones along with me.

Yours in struggle... both the good and bad kind ;)

SURVEY:

Yeah i've always only been able to "view only." my permissions are restricted so can't see list of whose it shared with and who the "owners" are. Who ever is the original doc "owner" need to try to log in again. i assume that's you, shapiro. ? I've had this problem before. What worked before for me was making sure I was logged out of ALL my different gmail accounts.  Cleared my cache and COOKIES. closed the browser, and reopened. and logged in with only the email account that I used to originally create the doc. Google docs get confused with other emails accts open, and with cookies, and setting's that automatically reopen your last session, it could be open without you know.

if that doesn't work, well, that's a conundrum kemosabe.

MEETING TOMORROW:
So far it's me and Lara... Jan, Sharon, Sky or Premo?
I'm stuck in meetings until 9pm tonight, so maybe we can meet at 2pm either at 33 Flatbush or a spot to eat nearby tomorrow in order to prep before the 3pm meeting.

TIDES:
It may have been lost in a flurry of emails but I mentioned that someone on staff there reached out to me about potential collaboration and to see if this program of their's might have some resources or technical support to offer us.  It's a preliminary convo, and it might not amount to anything.  We're still working on scheduling, but my hope is that it would be for Thursday morning of next week.  Hit me up if anyone wants to join in.

SURVEY PROBLEM:
I was going to start drafting a internal report for us of take-aways from the survey process.  I went to google docs and the survey is now locked in "view only" mode so I can't see the charts of responses.  Is anyone else able to access this more fully?  I'm not sure what's going on.

MEETING ON SUNDAY
Look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday as well from 5-8pm.  We got a lot of exciting ground to cover... and I'm thankful we have such a solid team!  Bring a snack if you want.  If anyone wants to play around a bit more with agenda, hit me up for that too.

xx
Lucas

Asunto: Re: meeting with Al at 33 Flatbush this FRIDAY @3pm!!!

I can make it! As far as prep goes, I could do a phone call tomorrow (Thursday) around 5 or 6, or I could meet up an hour early on Friday.

Hey team!

I just got an email from Nancy Romer of the Brooklyn Food Coalition.  She's arranged for us to meet with Al (owner of 33 Flatbush) at 3pm THIS FRIDAY.  It will be on the 5th fl in the conference room.

I realize this isn't an ideal time for some of us, but it would be great to have a few people present and for us to prep beforehand (even if over phone or email).

Who can join me?

Also, I'm arranging a meeting with the Tides Foundation for Thursday or Friday of next week.  Open invite if anyone wants in on that too.

Oh no, Lucas! So sorry to hear about the bed bugs. I can tentatively host at my spot in Crown Heights (Nostrand and St. Marks) on Sunday, unless someone has a more central location? Also, Margot expressed that she wanted pen pals! So, an express mailed letter/postcard to her might get her in more immediate communication...

Oh man, Lucas, I'm sorry! Zakia, thanks for offering to host - I can host too if my location is easier for folks, but we'd need to start the meeting late. I'm in Downtown Brooklyn (Schermerhorn & Boerum).

I'll be there at 2. Lucus, can you bring print-outs of the survey & the accomplishments list? I'll copy the text from the main & FAQ pages of our website into a doc & bring that, too.

Lara and I had an "interesting" meeting today with Al from 33 Flatbush.  We'll report back on Sunday, but it was partly a let-down, even though there are still possible next steps to explore.

I'll leave it up to all of you about where best to meet on Sunday.  If we do meet at Lara's, I would suggest people set aside 6-9, since we have so much on the agenda.  And Zakia, your place sounds rad too.

The survey got fixed!  Michael... somehow you are now listed as the survey "owner"!  How'd you work that magic?  I'm printing some responses from the survey that folks can comb thru.

Any other materials we might need?

see yall on Sunday if I don't get devoured by the giant bugs in my nightmares

Maybe we should do Lara's place so the uptown people don't have to travel so far (Sharon? Denisse?)

So meet from 6-9?

Hi all! 6pm at my place is good. I'm at 96 Schermerhorn St. Apt. 11D, corner of Boerum Pl. Michael, it's a core meeting - we decided that the bigger meetings would take the form of monthly potlucks.

Hey team,

So I updated a draft agenda based on all the ideas we've floated around over email.  Look good?

See yall at Lara's at 6pm!

1) The Survey!  We have almost double the number of responses since our last meeting (current total of 141).
I have print copies of the newer answers and the graph bar reports from the survey.  Do we want to spend more time looking thru responses at the mtg?  This could take hours, so maybe we should all try and read thru responses on-line prior to the meeting and flag any issues/observations/next steps?
Follow-up: getting back to people who filled out the survey and wanted to plug-in... creating an internal report of findings from the survey (I might be able to work on an early draft of that this week)... deciding to keep the survey open as is, or tweaking it given that we're in a new phase.

2) Space updates!  A report back from the folks who met with Melissa and from the meeting with Al from 33 Flatbush.

3) Provisional core!  What do folks need/want to feel more deeply connected as a team and as individuals with defined responsibilities within it?  A leadership retreat at Brooke's spot upstate?

4) Working groups!  When do we want to launch them?  There's also the piece around the Commons and programming ideas for that.

5) Potluck!  Scheduling the next get-together where we can invite people from 1on1s and (some? all?) people who filled out the survey.  Host the potluck at The Commons?

6) Communications!  It would be great to send out another "official" MSP email update to our growing list (including all 1on1s and those who asked to be added to email list from the survey).  What should go on it?  Also, we need to add bios to website and discuss social media (including admin of FB page)

7) CUNY Law at our service!  Review the preliminary set of legal questions developed for the students at CUNY who will be working with the MSP this semester.

Looks good! Can we add a discussion of "branding" / image / tone under #6?

See everyone at 6! Here's my # just in case: 917 848 7529.

This reminds me, we should all exchange phone #s.

Hi everyone,

sorry for being so behind on the e-mails. It's been an incredibly hectic week. So, apparently two of my wisdom teeth are coming in impacted which results in me spitting up blood. I have a dentist appointment this week, but I think it would be best to stay in and rest today.

I would very much like to still be a part of the collective. Please update me as to what particular projects or responsibilities we are outlining for ourselves as members of the MSPCore. I would very much enjoy going on a retreat to Brooke's and being part of other WG's.

again, i totally apologize that I will not be able to make the meeting. I just do not think it would be very hygienic.

Thanks for all of your continued work.

stay hydrated

Yo! So sorry team. I have a wack excuse that might keep me from the meeting. I came to check on some imaginary mouse for my partners great aunt out here in coney island/manhattan beach. Now I gotta move some furniture and do some dumb shit all the while she's been making food while complaining that borscht without chicken stock isn't as good. I think she's just lonely, and her niece's co-habitating with a brown boy blows her fucking mind. but I can't just say no to her. For all my cynicism she's a sweet, sweet elder.

I'm gonna try to jump soon but may not be in time to ride the train back to downtown brooklyn.

But please forgive me.

I have a dozen thoughts to share. That may just have to wait
