NOTES FROM MSP-CORE TEAM MEETING 8/4/13 
In attendance: Lara, Sharon, Lucas

Space/collaborator updates
      *Cheyenna / Commons - Next step: Lara checked in with Cheyanna about mtg date to discuss her plans to create a cooperative bar at BK Commons
      * Bushwick -  Next step: not invest much energy into it unless they are more pro-active in communication. Lucas to respond to their email
      * AJ Muste Institute - Next step: yes to meeting, what do they mean by "prospective partners"?  open to survey collaboration.  Lucas to check in.
      * Brecht - Next step: Lucas check in with Karen and Max
      * Back-up plan for going on our own - Next step: come back to this question after above check-ins

Happy Hour
     - debrief last party - want to ensure that future ones have area for MSP list and our happy hour sign-in sheet.  if not, we can ask partnering orgs to have a collumn on their sign-in sheets for being added to the MSP/happy hour list
     - plan next one - xext step: do it at cherry tree with FUREE, see about drink specials, cut of the bar to support furee, tax-deduction?
     - criteria / process for partner organizations -  next steps: brainstorm a list, prioritize, draft language about what it means to co-host, create google doc and invite michelle
     - name of the event - next step: check in with michelle
     - hosts committee - next step: put on agenda for meeting
above all we want to set up a time to meet with michelle to discuss a range of options, making it clear that we value her role tremendously and want to help support and expand the model that the original activista crew envisioned

Other events
      - eventually would like to host other events, like dance parties, potlucks, picnics, etc. (have an event planning team?)

Group-building
     - What are people's needs for this space? (e.g. flexibility about weekly meetings, phone vs. email).  we decided to meet every other week on mondays.

Publicity (improves to make)
          * photos from happy hours on site, either linking to FB and/or changing the banner
          * photographer at events (including happy hours
          * remove plain text "movement space project" from top of website
          * incorporate MSP logo into banner
          * replace MSP logo where it is now with graphic link to events tab, highlighting the monthly happy hours
          * make similar changes to MSP facebook page
          * for ebasts add link to be placed on MSP google calendar (look at lara came up with)
          * postcards - lara will reach out to graphic design people on MSP list, Blithe and others


AGENDA FOR NEXT MEETING
         - Monday, August 12th... Lara will invite Cheyanna and Lucas will invite AJ Muste, Sharon will invite Michelle to next meeting and if she's not available (given Lara's email about Cheyanna's schedule, do we want to have our next core meeting on Aug. 19th instead?)
         - Composition of Core toward the top of next meeting agenda
