good observation michelle.
i think this gets to the heart of issues we should discuss at an in-person meeting! :)
from talking to you, eli, betta and nathalie, i got the impression that the reigns were largely being past our way since most of the original Activista crew had mostly faded into the background (or in eli's case, moving out of town). also that is was serendipitous that the happy hour fit into the MSP master plan... and that it was even better that you were in the mix, michelle, as a bridge between the two.
of course, i may have totally jumped the gun on these impressions, so it's cool to dial it back. i def want to make sure we all feel good about the model we're working with. once there's clarity on that front, it would be rad to discuss how to best ensure the happy hour maximizes momentum, support and visibility for the MSP. things like whether the MSP facebook account should create the future happy hour event pages could fit into that discussion. if we are going to be listed as co-hosts with Activista, we can also discuss what/who Activista is and what that shared promo/coordination roles looks like. i personally think there's much to be gained by collapsing things under the MSP umbrella (simplicity, avoids confusion, streamlined communication, supports a long-term organizing project), but i also love and respect the folks involved in the Activista crew, so wanna make sure we on the same page.
i'll modify the text a little as sharon suggested.
and let's try and find a time when most of us are free to meet in person (with yummy snacks!).
it looks like wednesday isn't gonna work for several of us this week. proposed alternate times are: this friday eve, sunday dinner time (my treat).
what works for folks?!
xx
