Land & Carbon Lab has released Version 2 of the Global Tree Canopy Height dataset — the first global 1‑meter resolution map of trees, powered by Meta’s DINOv3 AI model. This open dataset enables detection of individual trees worldwide, transforming how we monitor restoration, carbon emissions, and biodiversity.
For CoreStack developers, this is a chance to integrate cutting-edge tree health layers into our backend pipelines (tree_health/canopy_height.py), making restoration monitoring more precise and transparent. OSS contributors can help extend ingestion scripts, schema mapping, and visualization dashboards.
