Hi all,

We will have the developer community call tomorrow (Friday) at 3pm as usual. I'd like to show this vibe coded app I co-wrote with Claude and gang which uses GEE APIs on pan-India CoRE stack assets to find upstream/downstream micro-watersheds to a given area of interest, and renders an interactive map with deforestation data and a time-series of surface water availability. I think something like this could be useful for river rejuvenation projects.

Here is a blog about it: https://core-stack.org/planning-river-rejuvenation-over-a-large-stretch/

We'll also discuss various ideas we proposed for the CoRE stack innovation challenge.

Hi all,

The video from today's call is online: https://youtu.be/4vpSwfWrhGw

We are also thinking we'll extend the challenge deadline to Jan 15th since many of you have just started engaging with the APIs.

Also happy to share that we'll have cash prizes for winners of the order of Rs 10,000 for exciting solutions. And FOSS United will share some merch for all participants.

Looking forward to cool ideas coming from all of you!

Hi all,

We are not having a dev call today since many people are unlikely to be around due to the year-end and long weekend. We had informed in the call last week but missed sending out an announcement. We will have our next call on Friday Jan 2nd at 3pm.

Best wishes for the new year to everyone!

regards
Aadi

Hi all,

After the ask from INREM to build water quality maps, here is another ask from Kaustubh from APU to build dashboards for the ecology of lakes and tanks. We will discuss these and other ideas proposed for the challenge in the next dev call on Friday Jan 2nd at 3pm. If you have any similar ideas then please do share. While the immediate deadline is Jan 15th, we will keep the challenge open with quarterly submission deadlines throughout the year - this will help build out larger and more ambitious contributions that need more time to develop.

Best wishes for the new year everyone! See you soon.

Hi all,

Looking forward to the dev call tomorrow (Friday) at 3pm. We'll continue like last week to discuss various ongoing projects.

Also I'm happy to share that FOSS United who have been a partner and mentor all along in this journey will support some projects in the long run with grants, in addition to prizes for PoCs from the CoRE stack, especially where the PoCs can be generalized for wide deployment. This is another way of saying that we are all excited to see a community building up around geospatial data and analysis and want it to grow :)

On that front, we'll also soon begin learning calls where we will invite eminent researchers and product developers to share their work and give further ideas and mentorship to bring cutting edge climate and environment science and technologies to communities.

Hi all, Gentle reminder that we'll meet today as usual. Let's discuss updates on various efforts and I'll share some thoughts on cool things we can do with Anil's group at Cambridge.
