AchiAwesome recipes. I used to call my mom back in India for the recipes, corrections and suggestions. Your blog is so handy. Achi pls post the recipe for therakkal using chilli powder and coriander powder, bcos my home made milagaipodi is out of stock. Have to get it from India in my next visit. Also for pulikuzhambu like ennaikathirikkai kuzhambu, karivadaga kuzhambu can u pls tell me the ratio of chilli powder and coriander powder. Thank you.

vidhya,dont worry if you are out of stock of kuzhambu milagai thool.For pulikuzhambu and many others I too use the chilli powder corriander powder mix.Use 1 table spoon chilli powder and 2 tablespoons corriander powder for pulikuzhambu and karivadaga kuzhambu.For sambar use little less corriander powder.

vidhya,try this.Take 50 gms chilli powder,100 gms corriander powder.To that powder this and add

1 table spoon pepper

1 tablespoon-small jeera

1 table spoon-fennel seed

1 teaspoon fenugreek

In a kadai dry roast these items.grind to a smooth powder.add chilli powder and corriander powder also and grind.I think this will be similar to our kuzhambu milagai thool.

tried this chumma kulambu......wow really superb....but the tomato and onions does nt boil well....shall we put in cooker for 1 steam so that it boils well....achi once again thank for thos wonderful receipe.....simply superb......
