Hi all,

Renegade Productions is looking for innovative designers and engineers to take part in a new 6-part TV series.  All the details below...

Best,
Natalie

__________

Renegade Productions, (makers of Planet Mechanics), are looking for the most
innovative design and engineering brains in the US and UK to front a new, 6-
part science television series. Two teams of top problem solvers will design and build
prototype solutions to real-world problems…

Whether the Chief of Police in Villamoura, Portugal throws down the challenge
to STOP JOY RIDERS, or the Norwegian Mountain Rescue challenges them to
come up with a new AVALANCHE RESCUE DESIGN, our teams will come up with
inventive solutions which demonstrate hands on skills and lateral thinking.

Solutions to problems like these could genuinely make a difference and will provide
an hour of dynamic, unpredictable, fact packed and visually stunning television!
We're looking for people with extensive practical fabrication skills and inventive
minds, who can explain science and engineering concepts in 'layman terms' as we
follow the prototyping process from start to finish.

If you’re interested please e-mail proble...@renegadepictures.co.uk with a CV
or short biog and contact details or call 0207 449 3272 for more information.

Hi there,

Following on from my phone message – I was hoping you would be happy to help spread the word a little about a new science series we are making from Renegade Pictures in the UK (www.renegadepictures.co.uk).

We are looking for new on screen talent and are very keen to hear from people in the US who may be interested in being considered for this.

A little about the show;

Our series aims to bring together two teams of well  rounded scientists, designers, engineers and builders, who can utilise their skills and ideas to  design and manufacture technological inventions which meet a real-world need in a time pressured, competitive environment.

The inventions or solutions will address problems from countries and locations all over the world and so selected participants will be travelling extensively.

We're looking for people with extensive practical fabrication skills and inventive minds, who can explain science and engineering concepts in 'layman terms' as we follow the prototyping process from start to finish.

Our team members should have a wide range of skills, in a combination of areas, some may be university educated; others self-taught, but will be brilliant and creative model makers or builders.  All need to know their way around a workshop and be able to bring more than just blue-sky thinking to the table.

We are also obviously looking for great characters too as our two teams (or partnerships) will be essentially fronting the series when they are presented with a new conundrum or challenge for each of the 6 episodes.

The 6 episodes will take approximately 8 weeks to shoot, however depending how the challenges are designed, and where they take place in the world, this may not be in one lump but broken up across the summer.

Contributors will be paid a fee in recognition of their time, contribution and  the break from their usual employment. Whilst this will be substantial, it is a blanket fee and may not match the lost earnings of individual participants. Naturally all accommodation, food and global travel expenses will be covered by production.

A budget of £10,000 will be allocated to each team for each challenge to help them realise, assemble and create a solution to their challenge by the end of each episode and they will have approximately 10 days from start to finish!

If between them they are missing a skill or the experience to tackle any aspects of the problem – there is no reason why they shouldn’t employ someone to help, but of course this would come out of their budget…

Having learnt a little about the Design School I am very much hoping you may have staff, students or associates who could be interested in exploring this opportunity. I have attached a rather snappier advert and wonder if there would be anyway you could forward or display it to relevant people.

Please let me know if you can help , or would like any more information.

Kind regards

Rebecca
