hey guys,

just wanted to make sure you didn't miss this Economist blog post:
An atom-based product, developed in bits
http://www.economist.com/blogs/babbage/2010/10/small-scale_production

it's about a pair of guys (one from frog design) and how they created
a simple cool tripod for the iphone
what fascinates me (and the Economist correspondent) is how the whole
thing unfolded: from designing with a free CAD program, to prototyping
with a 3d printshop from the Netherlands (a stone's throw from my
pretty Belgium!), to funding the whole thing through KickStarter
(already over $110k)...

the future of industrial design seems rather interesting!
