Dear CORAL members,
At your respective libraries have you ever been presented with a student ADA request for extended room reservation privileges? Currently our policy allows students to reserve a study room for up to 4 hours a day. We implemented this because we had students reserving rooms for 8-12 hours at a time and other students would complain that there were no rooms available. Has anyone had an experience with a library ADA accommodation request? Specifically, was there a formal agreement between the student, ADA office, and the library? Was there a time limit?
This is a first for us and we were curious if any other libraries have had this experience.
Thank you,
Andrea

Hi Andrea!
Yes, we had this request just a few weeks ago. And this was another request among the ones we’ve received from students over the last few semesters.
Right now, we can’t accommodate these requests -specifically with a dedicated space. But, we’re working on adding some PODs to do so for this explicit reason. (And one other related project is in the hopper but still under development. I’ll let you know more about that work later since this is of interest to you.)
