🥳 Welcome Alison!
Please welcome CORAL’s first student member – Alison Beshur! Alison recently graduated from Texas Woman’s University in May with an MLS and a certificate in evidence-based health sciences librarianship. She completed her practicum at UIW’s School of Osteopathic Medicine Library. She’s currently working for UnitedHealth as a provider communications specialist while she continues her health sciences librarianship studies under the Medical Library Association’s Research Training Institute. She’s interested in meeting more librarians in San Antonio and attending educational events to continue her learning.

🛩️ From Rare Volumes to Real-World Impacts: Volunteering & Mentorship in STEM
You’re invited to join SwRI Library for an engaging (hybrid) presentation by Southwest Research Institute Research Engineer Nicole Webb (Intelligent Systems Division) as she shares how volunteering and mentoring can transform classic STEM ideas into immersive, hands-on learning experiences. Learn how Webb mentored Trinity University students and collaborated with the San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology (SAMSAT) to refurbish a T34-C cockpit into a modern flight simulator exhibit and discover opportunities to support future STEM education and outreach projects. A selection of rare books from the SwRI Library collection will be on display, offering a glimpse into how rare volumes can turn into real-world impacts. Lunch will be provided.
