The League of Women Voters San Antonio is launching a new social media campaign. It's a community-wide effort to improve voter turnout and is called Get Out the Vote or GOTV.
The process is fairly simple in that the League will send anyone who is able to participate a ready-to-use social media kit that includes three social media posts, an email vote reminder, and newsletter copy. These can be used to post to social channels
or to send an email or text to organization contacts.
A similar Get Out the Vote (GOTV) campaign reached over 113,000 first time voters in under 24 hours, proving the power of social media partnerships. The League in San Antonio wants to double that number.
Local artists
Manola and Maria Ramirez have been engaged to create several San Antonio themed images. GOTV social media kits will be sent out on February 15 so there will be time to prepare to start posting on February 17 the day early voting starts. Since the actual
date for regular voting is March 3, posts can be done anytime between February 17 – March 3rd.
