Hello everyone,

I am currently working on a project to develop an automated sea-ice classification system for Antarctic Sentinel-2 imagery. My research focuses on comparing the performance of a U-Net segmentation model trained on automatically generated labels (via unsupervised clustering) versus those trained on expert-annotated labels.

I am looking for datasets or specific image patches (256x256 pixels) that have already been annotated by marine scientists or experts. Specifically, I am interested in labels distinguishing between:

  • Open water

  • Thin ice

  • Thick ice

If anyone has access to ground-truth datasets for regions like the Ross Sea or Marie Byrd Land, or could point me toward specific archived threads in this group containing such images, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you for your time and assistance!

Best regards,

AKash
