Hi, I was looking over some of the recent posts regarding Coral's future and wondered if there's a possibility that the developers from fabric-engine could take up Coral for use in their Creation Platform or Core Engine?

I'm not sure Coral can embed with FE because some part of Coral could "have conflict" with some others of FE.

My 2 cts. :)

Hi, Michael.

As far as I know they are positioning their product as multithreaded Python coding, i.e. TD's can write their own applications without C++ knowledge. I asked the guys from the Fabric Engine would they make some sort of node based system, but CEO replied me they're focused on the core and speed of the engine and have no plans for node base system for now.

I don't see the benefits of such integration because Coral has powerful engine already, - it's multithreaded and uses opengl core profile for displaying, which means it's blazingly fast

Fabric have already a dependency graph and it's very optimized, more over to optimize some parts is using a spefic language used with llvm, the structure of coral is too different and also too slow compared to fabric engine

Cheers

The two projects overlay in lots of ways, especially now that the fabric team has ported their technology to python, so I don't see an integration happening.
Fabric is way faster than coral, but it's also more complex, and it's not free.

I'd say that the only way the two can somehow collide, is if someone was to take Coral's node-editor and convert it to use Fabric nodes instead.

Or the other way around, take their KL language and make a KL coral node.
