Hey CopyNight friends-
CopyNight has been on hold for some time as I've been working crazy hours. After rethinking the mission and considering the original intent, I've decided to resurrect CopyNight. Instead of presentations, CopyNight will be a place to meet and catch up with other people in the copyright reform/copyleft/free internet/net neutrality/open source/creative rights/digital rights management worlds. This was Fred's original intent and will make it easier to keep it going.
"CopyNight is a monthly social gathering of people interested
in restoring balance in copyright law. We meet over drinks once a month in many
cities to discuss new developments and build social ties between artists,
engineers, filmmakers, academics, lawyers, and many others."
To this end, if you would be interested in helping to redo the CopyNight.org website let me know.
From now on, CopyNight will occur on the
first Tuesday of the month at Sweet & Vicious, 5 Spring Street (just across the street from our old spot).
6-8pm. I will try to send out a reminder, but beyond that, it's up to you to come, hang out, make conversation and bring other people.
I also ask you to take the following step:
Tweet or post to Facebook or tell your friends:CopyNight is back! Drinks w/ people who care about freedom, innovation and creativity on the internet and beyond.
