The Senate has put SOPA to rest FOR NOW, but PROTECT IP is still live
and goes before the senate 1/24, the same day CopyNight returns from
winter break. Join us to really understand what the implications of
these bills are, to discuss ideas for how to protect IP through
innovation instead of legislation, and the age-old question of whether
IP is protectable when copies can easily be made without affecting the
original work. Plus, what is the future of IP-related activism?

Derek Bambauer, Associate Professor of Law at Brooklyn Law School,
will give a brief presentation followed by discussion.

**Please arrive on time since Derek is teaching the same evening.**

CopyNight is a monthly social gathering of people interested in
restoring balance in copyright law. We meet over drinks once a month
in many cities to discuss new developments and build social ties
between artists, engineers, filmmakers, academics, lawyers, and many
others. Join us in the back room.

Please help spread the word: fwd, tweet and post to your mailing
lists. Thanks!
