Hi,
have a well functioning Openstack instance. I manage to use it to create volumes using cider. I manage to discover it successfully using CoprHD (-3.0.0.0.310) .
the problem is I see no pools on physical-> storage systems -> <Selected openstack identrifier> -> pools.
I'm not sure I fully understand the notion of pools when using cinder driver.
anyhow, it wouldn't let me proceed with defining virtual pools without having it set before..
I see nothing on logs.

Hi,

I am facing a similar issue. Have a look in controllersvc-discovery.log. You should be able to see what's going on. In Theory, the Vipr pool is the cinder volume type which you have defined on the cinder node.

In my case I am getting:

INFO  CinderCommunicationInterface.java (line 459) Storage Pool name = OST-MAM-R5, id = cd91db1b-3f56-4971-a3ba-703b96381782
INFO  CinderCommunicationInterface.java (line 499) Pool OST-MAM-R5 doesn't belong to storage system OSTMAMV7KP05_OST-MAM-R5
INFO  CinderCommunicationInterface.java (line 459) Storage Pool name = IBM-SVC-FC, id = 0b23b2a5-429a-4e01-96e6-8e4263fed09c
INFO  CinderCommunicationInterface.java (line 499) Pool IBM-SVC-FC doesn't belong to storage system OSTMAMV7KP05_OST-MAM-R5

unfortunately, I can't find a way around it yet.

Please let me know how you are progressing on this.

Regards,
Rabeh

So, I'm facing of the same issue! But I'm trying working with ds8k driver (or DS8870). In cinder side, I can create, delete and attach volumes but when I tried do a discover from CoprHD perspective I can't see any pools!

Someone solved this?

Hi Habeh,

I have worked with storwize like a 3rd storage array.

Could send me the output of?

List all storagesystem:
viprcli storagesystem list

Maybe you need register the fc ports of you arrays on Coprhd:

The xxx is a number of output above:
viprcli storageport list -t openstack -sn XXX

Add some validate pwwn of your array:
viprcli storageport update -t openstack -sn 234 -pn DEFAULT -tt FC -pnwid "XX:XX:XX:XX:"
