to Coping With Grief
I'm new to this and I feel rather strange getting to this point, but I felt a very strong urge to get 3rd party perspective on my situation without any bias. My grandfather who i was very close to struggled with health issues for awhile, and it ultimately got the better of him when he had a stroke this past month. Yesterday was last time I'll ever see him alive, and it's hard trying to cope because i immediately had to go back to work (I'm a government employee, can't say more). To add to this, my girlfriend and I have had a month long fight going on that's only exacerbated the situation. She told me the other day that her chronic health problems were the same as my grandfather passing. Her exact words were that we're both in bad spots and neither situation is greater or worse than the other. Her illness is pretty bad so I understand her frustration, but I just felt it was very out of touch and rather selfish to have someone compare themselves to the literal death of another individual. I don't know how to go about handling my anger and sadness, and any advice would be greatly appreciated.
