Hi Everyone,
It's been a while since I last sent out an email to all of you. Although we often write updates on our blog, I wanted to take the chance to write you and let you know how we are doing. In about five weeks we will be graduating! We are very excited to be finishing this phase in our lives, it was nearly six years ago that we begin our training at New Tribes Bible Institute, a long time coming but God has taught us so much. Right now our class is in the final stages of our last practicum which gives us another chance to practice the culture and language acquisition skills that we have acquired over the last two years. Before we began this part of the program our instructors warned us that it would be the busiest, most tough part of the training - and they were right! But we are thankful that God has provided such amazing training for us, preparing us for what is to come.
I want ask all of you to keep us in your prayers in the upcoming weeks. Not only are we finishing the last part of our training with NTMC but we are also trying to plan our trip to Guinea in June not to mention our move to Quebec in August to being French study. It has been a stressful time but also a time that God has been using to remind me that He is much bigger than all of us. An obvious fact but I had no idea how much I had begun to rely on myself to pull through circumstances. It is for this reason that I value tough times, for it's a reminder that it is not me that I should be looking to - it should be Him.
In particular please pray for finances, the trip to Guinea and move to Quebec are expenses that are beyond us, but we are confident that God is working this out for our good and more importantly to His glory. We hope to buy tickets this week but must wait and see what happens. In two weeks Pete Doerksen (an NTM missionary working in Guinea) and I will be traveling to Ottawa to obtain visas for our families to go to Guinea this summer. Pray that the paper work involved will go smoothly. There are a myriad of other details that need to be taken care of: vaccinations, travel plans, scholarship application.
For those of you in California, it won't be long till we are able to visit you, and we can't wait! We look forward to our visit to California, to rest and also to catch up with family and friends.
Thank you for being willing to pray, that is so valuable to us!
If you have any questions feel free to email or call us,
In Him,
Norm and Debra Copeland
