_0 after every species and parameter in .xml file

Hello,

I'm working on a model that i created in COPASI and exported as an .xml file. The problem is that in the .xml file every species, compartment and global quantity has an '_0' appended. Is this a known problem and if so what causes it and how could i fix it?

Hello Wanja, 

i would have to look at the exported file to be certain. If you can send it to me, i'm happy to take a look. In general though, this is expected if you create a model, where for example you have a species called "A" and later on you also create a parameter with the name "A", then in the SBML export, where all Ids are supposed to be unique, you would find one with '_0' in the id field. However, the name itself would not be changed, so when you import the model back in, the name will again produce a species "A" and a parameter called "A".
