Hi All,

I wonder if anyone can help.

I have frequently used the 'add new rate law' button and have just moved from version 4.35 to v4.37 (Mac, Intel) .

Now when I add a new rate law I cannot assign and commit a description to a name i.e., if S is a substrate in my rate law, when I select the descriptor 'substrate' in the drop down menu and hit commit, it reverts to 'parameter'. In the attached screenshot, you can also see that although I have selected 'substrate' for S, the application restrictions have not recognised this. (I am not sure why the Units are also missing. This is not the case for the pre-assigned functions).

I don't think I am doing anything differently to how I used v4.35.

Any help appreciated,

Best,

Tom.

Addendum: I have dropped to v4.34 and all works as expected (I had difficulty re-installing v4.35 for some reason).

Hello Tom,

I'm sorry to hear that you are having issues. I've tried to reproduce the issue with the latest version using the intel mac version:

I could not isolate at what point things went wrong for you (i used the copasi -darwin-intel download for that one). If you could provide more detail, that would be great.

For more information, we have changed our build, in order to support the new macOS m1 chips, for macOS intel builds we provide a version, that works starting Big Sur. Then we still provide the 'darwin' build that should work for older macs.

Thanks
Frank

Nevermind, i see it now, it should look like this:

I have no idea why the mac version suddenly behaves differently. Most of the COPASI team is currently traveling, but we'll make it a priority to get a new version out, to solve this issue.

Thanks for letting us know,
Frank

Hi Frank,

Yes, that is what I was expecting. I have dropped back to an earlier version (4.34) which works well (plus I use the R version, CORC). Thanks for looking into this though. I thought I had gone a little mad.

Best,

Tom.
