The validation data feature of the parameter estimation task is used, by adding and mapping a data file just like it is done with the experimental data. This data is only used for comparison, not for fitting.

In the currently released version of COPASI the validation data is unfortunately not plotted.

I’ve created a very basic example of decay: S -> , and have two data files, one truncated one with noise `training_data` and one with the true solution `validation_data`. I’ve recorded myself doing that. You’ll find the video here:
