collective voice, we work across disease areas to drive
sustainable funding and
equitable policies that improve global health and well-being for all. We work with more than 100 organizations - including associations and coalitions, corporations, foundations, NGOs,
academia, and think tanks - across 150 countries and focus on a broad range of global health issues.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic, there have been various global, regional, and country-level initiatives focused on strengthening health systems to ensure pandemic
prevention, preparedness, and response (PPPR). The World Health Organization (WHO) established an
Intergovernmental
Negotiating Body
(INB) to draft and negotiate a convention, agreement, or other international instrument under the Constitution of the World Health Organization on PPPR. The World Bank is hosting
the Pandemic
Fund which finances critical investments to strengthen PPPR capacities at national, regional, and global levels with a focus on low- and middle-income
countries. Most recently, during the High-Level Meeting (HLM) week of the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA78), Member States adopted a
Political
Declaration on PPPR. GHC believes it is critical that
Civil Society Organizations
(CSOs) at the local and regional levels advocate for governments to not only make concrete political commitments and actions in these global processes, but also hold themselves accountable for their commitments.

GHC would like to support CSOs in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs) with their PPPR advocacy initiatives. GHC will be awarding five (5) CSOs with
Advocacy in Motion (AIM) microgrants of $10,000 USD
each. Our expectation is that every organization use the funding to support their organization’s
advocacy in PPPR. Examples of activities include:
- Developing a PPPR advocacy plan,
- Hosting a town hall or advocacy meeting with CSOs and government officials to discuss ways to strengthen local
PPPR,
- Developing PPPR advocacy materials such as key messages, blogs, vlogs, social media toolkits, etc.,
- Researching national and/or regional PPPR gaps,
- Developing and conducting national and/or regional PPPR surveys,
- Creating national and/or regional PPPR networks to collectively advocate for PPPR.
Please note that we will
NOT fund the production of marketing materials,
such as T-shirts, badges, pens, banners, etc.

|
Eligibility: CSOs from LMICs working on PPPR at the
national, regional, or global levels.
Deadline:
The
application deadline is Monday, December 4th at 10:00 pm EST. Following
this deadline, we will be evaluating proposals and will notify all applicants of the outcome by Friday, December 15th, 2023. AIM grants will be issued at the end of December and awardees are expected to begin implementation in January 2024.

There are two steps to the application process:
- Submit
the Technical Application
- Upload the Financial Application to this
folder.
The financial application should include two attachments:
- your budget for the activity/activities you propose (please use this
template
for your submission), and
- your organization’s balance sheet and/or income statement for 2022.
All Financial Application submissions should follow this naming convention:
Organization Name - Financial Application (example: Global Health Council - Financial Application)
NOTE: The budget should only include funding for the development
of your organization’s advocacy plan. We will NOT fund the production of marketing products such as t-shirts, badges, pens, banners, etc. Examples of activities that are acceptable
include brainstorming workshops, surveys, stakeholder meetings, research, etc.
We look forward to reviewing your applications.
Good Luck!
